Truk studied at Alfred University, during which time she began experimenting with fiber, combined with neon. She combined the translucent nature of pantyhose with the strong luminescence of neon. She has since gone on to work with a variety of materials, stretched to high tension points in large works. She is an arts educator at the Visual Arts Center in Summit, and West Windsor Art Center in West Windsor. Her role as educator forces reexamination of art history and
materials constantly exploring perspectives and understanding while exposing and inspiring techniques and ideas for personal studio time. Her sculptures have been exhibited throughout the tri-state area,
including at Grounds for Sculpture and Governor’s Island’s annual festival.
