Patricia Arias-Reynolds is a multimedia artist whose work consists of bright and contrasting color palettes to create an abstract environment. Reynolds has recently received a BFA Degree from Rutgers University-Newark. Not only has she curated and participated in group shows in the area, but she has also exhibited her own works at the Paul Robeson galleries, Monmouth University, and pop-up shows in the New Jersey and New York region. Newark has inspired her passion through teaching and creating art within the community, and her main painting techniques are influenced by Asian painting methods and nature. Exploring installation techniques has influenced an interactive aspect to her work. When painting she uses vivid colors to convey her feelings and captivate her experiences through her subject matter. Patricia’s Latino heritage has surfaced in her recent portrait installations. She uses religion and iconic Latina artist’s photographs to honor these women after their deaths and creates shrine-like portraits in their memory. Her mission is to give people an experience, whether it is walking through a garden or forest, because for her it is important to capture ones own feelings about nature.
